Converting to Sport seats from Z06 seats?

I haven't decided to do this, but was wondering what all is involved. Does the little electric motor hook up the same, meaning it uses the same wiring harness, etc?

What are all the differences b/w the two types of seats, and how much more do the sport seats weigh compared to the Z06 seats?

I just did it. I ordered mine from Vette Essentials. Got the sports seat covers and sports cushions. The seat skeleton is the same for the stock Z06 and the sports seat. You take the seats out by four nuts and disconnect the power seat wire. No power for passenger seat. Remove seat cover and cushions. Install sports cushions and covers. Only trick is to put the passenger bottom seat cover on the drivers side and visa versa. The reason is the sports seats on the C5 has power seats on the passenger side. So the sports seat cover on the passenger side has cut outs on that side. If you swap them the cutout are on the inside tunnel flush against the carpet and you can't see them. Then you cut out the bottom seat cover wear the plastic power seat controls go.

I had an upolstery shop do it since I was lazy and let the experts do it.

The weight is negliable. Great to have the holes for the harness pass-thrus. Extra bolster as well.

I did mine myself, all you need is the seat covers & the foam.

I really wish GM had added a few hundred bucks to the cost of these cars and given us a great seat.
