Hi guys!
I finally got my car back from the dealer on Wednesday- it turns out instead of just changing the one leaky diff seal, they basically rebuiilt the diff- I see 7 (!) seals on my work order, sheesh. I wiped it down totally clean tonight, so we'll see if it leaks again.
I finally got around to installing my Corsa Ti exhaust, and my Callaway honker.
The honker installs like a dream- everything just falls into place, and fits better than factory, IMO. Very well done, and fully worth it. I had to buy a pop riveter to join the air box with the shroud.
The Corsa Ti went on with a lot more work. Removing the stock exhaust without cutting it was a beyotch! I couldn't get my jack to lift high enough, so I resorted to using wood to space it up- yuck..
When I started it up, the Corsa sounds awesome (street mufflers). Like how it should sound from the factory!
The popping/gurgling seems to be gone- the true H pipe probably fixed it I assume.
Here's the minor problem- I notice it isn't sealing well where the H-pipe meets the first muffler, and at one of the cat-to-H-pipe joints.
It's not a terrible leak (most of the exhaust goes out the back), but you can feel it with a bare finger.
Would it hurt anything to run around with a minor leak for awhile? It doesn't seem to affect the noise level at all.
And is there a good non-permanent fix for the leaks? I saw a Corsa Ti done with a bunch of silicone sealant, but once dry, I know that stuff will be near impossible to remove, never mind actually trying to disassemble it...
Thanks!
