Do passenger side C5 Sport seats fit on our drivers side??

Was thinking of doing this for two reasons.
1) Weight loss- no mechanical, heavy bottom section.
My guess is 10-15lbs total weight less.
2) pass throughs for belts.

Anybody done this??
Do your harness belts pass through and not pinch??

My 5 Point never works right over the stock Z06 seat.

The mounting points are identical. The seats are completely interchangable.

That being said, Left/Right sides can not be interchanged. Swapped left-for-right, the seat adjusters are between the seat and the drive-line tunnel. Try for yourself with your current seat, you'll see it's too tight a fit to get your hand in. You won't be able to adjust the seat back.

I had the power driver's seat out of my 98 a few times (infamous 'rocking seat' syndrome). The power system can't weigh that much, the entire *seat* doesn't weigh very much.

Even if you saved 15LBs, that's only about 0.4% of the dry weight of the car. Taking that kind of weight off the wheels would make a decent difference in handling, but taking it off the car isn't going to help you very much in speed.

But, IMHO, if you're racing, the 5-point harness thing is a good enough reason to make the change, regardless of weight.

I could never understand why Chevy didn't just use a manual version of the sport seat. It's really a more supportive seat (and it has the passthrough). The Z's seat is "coarse" by comparison.

Sport Seats

Is the opening in the Sport Seat at the correct hight and width to allow the pass through of a shoulder harness from the bar at the correct height and width to function properly? It looks too narrow to me. Anyone had any experience with this?/Mash
