does my clutch engage too high?

The clutch (stock) does not start to grab until the pedal is about 2/3 -3/4 up. Is this normal? The car has about 10k miles on it.

I drove friend's GTI and his clutch was grabbing much lower, it made shifting much easier compared to my Z06

My stock clutch engaged at about 50%. My replacement Spec setup engages a little higher, but it is all the way out sooner.

That's about where mine engages also...

The height of where the clutch engages through the pedal travel I believe is adjustable. I remember C4C5 adjusted mine but I couldn't tell you how. You might ask him over at www.corvettemechanic.com.

Not normal IMO. My Z06 (stock) grabs within the first 1/3 of travel.

Mine grabs WAY high too (like in the last few inches of travel). I hate it. It's great for drag racing (allowing super quick engage/disengage)...but it sucks in traffic. Not to mention that i have the Spec Stg III which has ZERO slippability...its totally on or totally off. That combination makes for some interesting starts on sloped hills.

I'll pay more attention to it tonite, but I think it starts to engage at about 1/3rd of the way up and is fully engaged about the half way mark. It's not an issue so I guess I don't pay much attention to it. It does engage lower than our S4 Audi.
