I had a chance to dyno my 2001 Z06 on both a Dyno-Jet and a Mustang Dynamometer...I did not make any changes to the car and readings were taken 2 weeks apart....
Hey Mark, You like the looks of dyno jet more better? Peter told us that the numbers would be lower on the Mustang than the other dynos, because the Mustang is made primarily for the big horse power cars, I guess your recent number back up what he said. What would that put mine at about 377 then, it certainly looks better when posting #s!!
Ted

I also looked at my numbers against a 2002....the 2002 ended up around 20hp more and the separation in the graphs happened around 4500rpm....so, up to 4500rpm...there is almost no difference between the 2001 and 2002....but after 4500 rpm...the 2002 starts leading!

That's interesting. I have seen other comparisons and the mustang dyno seemed to report about 10rwhp higher than the dyno jet. I have always used the same dyno so as to get a good idea of the delta between mods. Hopefully we will get some others that have done runs on both and see what they have observed.
CalJr. had his car dyno'd on both the Mustang and Dyno Jet as well. His results were similar to mine. Dyno-Jet being higher than the Mustang. As Ted implied....the Mustang is probably set up for higher HP.....meaning it may not be as linear at the lower HP?
Mark, I am not doubting the validity of the results that you guys had. It's certainly good information to hear from others about such trials. I recall there had been a discussion about the 2 types of dynos. Personally, the important item is using the same dyno to get a good idea of the delta of the mods that you add. Then you don't have to be concerned with how one dyno model reports versus another model.
My current numbers, 385+ rwhp & 392 rwt, and the deltas along the mod progression are all from the same mustang dyno. My stock numbers were 335rwhp and 335 rwt.
My plan is to have my computer programmed this week, hopefully picking up another 15+ rwhp. I will also do a few dyno runs at the same time to report the new numbers. I am hoping for that 400+ rwhp with just bolt-ons.
