Error code P0300 misfire?

I recently got the error code P0300. I have a 427 TT and have gotten error codes for the cats temps and I have read a little that this P0300 codes can have something to do with cats. Anyone know what might have caused this and if it is serious?

It's not serious, just annoying. You can have it edited out.

I've experienced the same code after a head and cam package, "multiple cylinder misfire" due to the larger cam I believe.
They edited it out also when tuning was done.

P0300 is a misfire code. Has nothing to do with the Cat. Emissions requirements mandate the engine be able to detect misfires. I think it does this by monitoring the crankshaft speed and checking to see that the speed changes slightly with every cylinder firing (not positive. There are other methods).

A lopey Cam might fool the PCM's detection algorithm.

I had this code on my '02, and it was caused by a chafing Injector Wiring Harness at the passenger side rear.
