Is factory power steering fluid synthetic? Help

Anyone know, if it isn't synthetic is the synthetic stuff compatible?

I could not find much information, but I found this in my owner's handbook.

The Factory fluid is part number GM 1052884. Any Power Steering fluid that is compatible with that part number will work.:

I don't know if the factory fluid is synthetic or not. My guess is that it's not.

I believe the best GM ps fluid is a synthetic blend- not pure synthetic. I think it is called a "cold climate" ps fluid.

Someone told me its a good idea to replace the PS fluid, as it breaks down under sustained high temps/use ...
Can one add synthetic or synthetic blend to what is stock fill?
Can one use the "turkey baster" method of cycling out the old fluid, as with the clutch master cylinder resevoir?
If not ... what is the drain process for the PS resevoir?
