Um... why exclude exhaust as set of LT's w/o cats hooked up to the stock catback will get you the most bang for your buck (still expensive though). Get an itake (vortex, vararam, trap) and some LT's (Kooks or LGMs) and then a tune if you want one. The next step from there is H/C. I'll be doing a cam of some sorts by the end of the year probably.

Sorry for the non-answers... But this has been hashed over in many threads.
1. Intake: Vortech/Vararam/Hurricane/Halltech/ are just some...
2. Headers: Kooks/LG/TPIS/Dynamaxx/Stainless Works/ are just some...
3. Random Tech Hi-Flo cats
4. Supercharger
5.LS1Edit

You did not really say what $ you were looking to invest?
T/B bypass
K+N filter with stock intake
lower t/stat(should do tune,or fan switch)
not much to start but not costly
but as mentioned exhaust is the place to get it....

Aftermarket cold air intake offers the best bang for the buck mod. So if you had to narrow it down to the most important first mod for the money, go with an intake.

But to get the most of the better breathing, you should match it up with a set of headers and dyno tuning. That's what I did, and it got me an additional 45hp at the flywheel plus 5 mpg better fuel economy and a wicked nice sound. Money well spent, IMO.

Ok the intake is fine. The long tubes, do they come with high flow cats??? My wife is giving me a hard time about the exhaust. She likes to ride in the vette and hates the loud exhausts. My mustang killed her on that. I didn't even have loud mouths, they weren't that loud, just sounded BAD. So, long tubes or headers?? I think the long tubes will give me more HP right?? Can I stay with the stock cat back?? Will it sound that much louder than normal with the lg tubes on there and a stock cat back?? Thanks for the replies. Dr.Bigg
