Front ,owering bolts only turn 1/2 turn and thats it

Im afraid im going to break it if I try to turn it any further. I can see on top of the bushing on top of control arm there is alot of threads left to still turn, but the bolt is going to break if I keep trying. I sprayed some penetrating fluid on the top of the threads but its still no go.

Any suggestions? I have a jack under the control arm also.

You need to put the jack under the spring & lift it up a bit so the rubber bushing on the end of the bolt is not touching the controll arm . A small hydraulic jack will work. I put a rag between it and tha spring . Hope this helps you. The bolt should turn freely.

Thats right you cant have any pressure on the bolt. Once you have the car secure on jacks, you have to lift the spring with a separate jack to releive the pressure on the bolt. Mine turned by hand but then thats a Florida car.

Bingo! I had the jack under the shock end and not the spring itself! Thank you very much! That was much easier~!

yeah dude, you gotta get the jack in the right spot underneath the spring, I followed the write up on here and did the same thing a few years ago when I lowered my Z, I stripped the heads of the bolts out pretty good, but not to the point that theyre useless.
