No need to pull tank.
Just pull the heat shield and it's right there.

not related to your 02, but my 03 was at the dealer for 2.5 months trying to replace the fuel pump that burned up (I guess 03's had 2 pumps, 1 in tank and 1 out and this was the in tank one). Anyway, they didnt have a special o-ring seal that only was applicable to the 03's pump and they had to finally tear into another 03 after I was gonna cause trouble cause they had the car almost 3 months and the o-ring wasnt made seperatly. I know they had to tear apart half the rear suspension to get at it they said and drop the tank. When car was deliverted back they forgot to tighten all the rear suspension back and it practically fell out of the car when driving off.
