Fuel starvation issue

This past fall I attended two track events. In each case when my 02 Z06 got between quarter and half tank of fuel the engine died under cornering. Filling the tank solved the problem in both cases. I know there is two tanks and one feeds the other. Could this be an issue with the pump between the tanks? Is there a second pump that then feeds the engine? Other than fuel pump problems what other causes might there be? Thanks.

Anyone have any thoughts on what might cause a fuel-starvation issue? I was able pull off the track and then immediately restart the car. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Sorry. I haven't had this problem, and I've done some pretty hard cornering (autox) with less than 1/4 tank.

I have had the traction control rapidly take away power under heavy conering which almost felt like I ran out of gas, but I was able to continue on.

A friend had his '01 vert in an AutoX last fall with the same issue in a sharp but a pretty good speed turn. However he was well below 1/4 tank when he experienced the fuel pickup problem. He decided that it was fuel pickup because as soon as he got out of the turn he had the "GO" again - and he had his Traction Control OFF.

I usually start with above 3/4 tank and get down below 1/2 tank by the end of the day. Try that and see how it does.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies.

I usually start with a full tank, but 3/4 through a day I'm usually down around 1/4. Maybe there is an issue with the traction control?? Usually, I run the traction control in performance mode, but the last two times I had the traction control fully enabled. I'll have to connect a scanner and check for error codes.
