gear ratio, how much will it help in the 1/4!

Lets say a stock Z06 (1) vs Stock Z06(2). Only difference in both cars is that Z06(1) has changed his ratio.

How much difference will it make in his 1/4 mile time against Z06(2). I'd like to know the difference when Z06(1) has 373s, and the difference if he has the 390s.

thanks,
Ebrahim

390s will get you in the 11s.
Perfect gear for a stock Z06.

I agree with Tom, although there's probably not much actual difference between the 3.73's and the 3.90's in your example as far as acceleration. Obviously if you go from 3.42's, which Z's come with, to 3.90's you'll see a bigger gain.

Having had the 4.10's now 3.73's I like the 3.73's much better.. I made the best passes of my life with the only change being the 3.73's and I only had 7 cylinders Oh I'm also not stock

When I was near stock with 3.90's I had a more difficult time launching the car at the strip and spun more on the 1-2 shift causing my 1/4 mile times to suffer. Drag radials eliminated this problem. So, on street tires with 3.90's I feel you will have no advantage over stock car.
