For a Z06 which has the MN12 Tranny, the best gear is 3.90 IMO. 3.73 are a close second and 4.10's are to short for the Z06. 4.10's are great for the MN6 tranny.

Will the speedo be off a small amount and if so can it be corrected using ls1edit?

Thanks

As long as you dont change tire size (height), you do not need to worry about the speedo.

I think the stock rear is 3.42:1 gearing. If you change out to 3.90 gears I believe the speedo will be off about 12%, or show 100 mph when you are really only going 88 mph.

If the speedo is reading the final output rpm of the axle and tire size doesn't change, you are correct!

C5s speed is measured by the rotation of the output shaft. LS1 Edit Menu specifically says recal is not required when changing gear ratios. However, it is required when changing tire size.
