Saving up $$$ for LG Longtubes, still trying to decide on exhaust in the meantime. I can get Borla Stingers with Quad Tips for $670 w/ shipping, but I noticed that GHL makes a similar (identical?) exhaust called the bullets, which come with a choice of 3.5" tips instead of 4" like the Stingers. However, the GHL's would run me $849 w/out shipping. Does anyone know if the GHL's are worth $200 extra? Also, which has a better sound and which has less interior resonance?
Also, I could get the Borla x-r1 race exhaust with the x-pipe/resonator and no mufflers for $630 w/shipping. I don't like the two-tip look as much as 4-tips, but if this system outperforms the others and doesn't have resonance problems, I could live with 2 tips, especially considering the great price.

For me, there are 2 things that the extra cash gets you with GHL-
1. No resonance (assuming you have not touched anything else on the exhaust)
2. Full polished stainless steel from start to finish.
For me, it was worth it.
Out of curiosity, has anyone on this board dyno tested their car for before and after Stinger comparisons? I'd like to know how many more ponies they yielded over stock.

They're basically the same setup, but one costs more. I love my stingers, but want it louder now that I have a daily beater. I'm replacing my 2-tip borlas with the borla straight pipes. They're the back 1/2 of the XR-1 system so they just come straight out the back. LGMs w/ no cats and the XR-1 system would be nasty!

You might as well take the stereo out of your car, cuz it's going to be useless....

I just installed the Borla Stingers (4 tip) yesterday and all I can say is WOW!! Who would not want this sound? True I need to get an amp for the stereo now so I can hear it My buddy heard me pulling out of the parking lot and thought he was at a Nascar race Love the Borlas!!!

I have had both exhausts your considering. My current set up is LG long tubes with GHL Bullets 4 tip 3.5".This set up is the sweetest sounding exhaust I have ever heard.I'ts tame a cruise and a total beast at WOT.Car sounds like a 1967 427 with side pipes!.No resonance in the cabin at all.Don't get me wrong the car is loud but no annoying vibration associated with resonance. As for the stingers they resonated like crazy with the stock exhaust and were very loud. With the long tubes you'd wake the dead. The headers add allot of sound out back.Remember that as your car could get very loud quickly with differant exhausts.I got my GHL through Extreme Motorsports(a forum vendor) for 835 which included shipping.Speak to mike. They also have a Magnum line that has a 5" can instead of a 6" can for the bullets and the Magnum is louder.I feel it was worth every penny as I got the exact sound and increased performance I was striving for. Good luck with your decision.

I believe the magnums have a 5" muffler and the bullets have a 6". So the magnums will be a bit louder and have a tad more resonance inside the car. The magnums are a few hundred dollars cheaper also. Needless to say, I went with the Magnums.
I went with Magnums too.
I thought long and hard about borla vs ghl. But i know im getting headers later on and i know how sweet GHL and headers sound together!.

Also the Bullets are completely polished where as the magnums have a partial polish. Greg
I agree with all these points - for me the GHL's were the best.
