Good body shop in Northern VA/Richmond area?? Dealership??

I need fairly major repair out of my own pocket.
Any shops that anyone knows.
Also would a dealership be the best ones to handle it. Easy part access and fixed by GM might help in long run with standing by the repairs.
Thoughts??

Call your insurance agent - he'll be able to advise you! He deals with body repairs all the time and probably has a shop he prefers.

Sorry to hear you need some work. I don't know any good shops up in NoVa, but don't go to Jim McKay Chevy in Fairfax. They did a terrible job on my Camaro.

Let me know what you find. I asked about a month ago if anyone could recommend a local paint shop and got no responses. I ended up going with Matchless Body Works on route 7. I saw a Viper GTS sitting out front a couple years ago and there was a Porsche being worked on when I dropped off my Caravaggio Canards. I'm having them installed today. I'll let you know how they come out.

OK, the Canards are on ! The mechanic who was installing them called me yesterday to ask how I wanted them attached. I told him I believe most people just use the double sided automotive tape, but with their location he said it might be good to add a few screws. I agreed, so there are 2 screws in each wheel well and two under the bumper (I haven't laid on the ground yet to verify). The install looks good. There is a slight gap along the front edge of each, but I've read online that most people seem to have that with the canards.

The only downside that I've noticed is the color isn't exact, but that isn't their fault. I didn't leave the car with them since it is my only car, so they painted it the factory white. Since my car is outside 24/7, the paint doesn't have the super high shine it once did, so the new paint is slightly brighter. Hopefully a good detail/buffing job can bring it up to a very close match.

Overall, I'm happy with how it turned out. My friend used Matchless to fix her near totaled Neon and it came out well she said. No extra rattles, paint matched.

These are the two other places I was concidering:
