Got a flat

Just a little nail in my rear tire and guest what? Can't patch it because they are Z rated tires. Has to change it. Cost $350.00. For a small nail. Is that true?

I had a rear patched over a year, 8000 miles ago. Not a drop of air has leaked out. I would not worry about a patch

I had both rear tires patched on my car. Make sure they use a minumum of a patch. A plug patch is even better. Just don't let them plug it.

Having picked up 4 nails in my tires now, I have had 3 patches, but I didn't feel comfortable doing Driver Education days with the tires anymore. I bought a new set, will save the old ones for I don't know what. You can patch them, but they are no longer speed rated...that's my understanding anyway...

I believe it maintains it speed rating after one patch.
After two it goes down a rating.

I've had four flats in a little over a year
Fortunately all were small nails or screws and all were patched. I wouldn't rec a plug at all, just a patch. I've continued to do open track sessions without a problem.

So - whom would be a good bet for patching a tyre?

Autozone? Pepboys? NTB? Custom wheel shop?

Opinions please on whether a bum or bad patch can be fixed?

TIA

Paul
