Got my Kooks this week! Pics 56K Beware...

UPS delivered my headers on Monday.

I have been on the fence for a LONG time with headers but am glad with my decision.

The pics really don't do the headers justice but I think the quality of the work from bends to welds look top notch.

Nope. Just the Blackwing and the '02 shocks in the past.

As far as future mods, I'm gonna see what these headers do and then will think about possibly a cam only upgrade. 400 RWHP is my idea goal with a stock like idle (224/224 114?)

As far as install, I had originally thought of Norris but there was a little wait on these headers and now my personal scheduling is in whack. I am considering a self install... that how-to from jmx does make it look kinda easy and I could use that $400 towards my cam fund

God, why the hell did they not go with a midpipe made of all stainless? If that were the case, they'd have my money hands down right now. As it's not the case, I'm still so torn between +/-'s between systems it's not even funny. Think it'll come down to coin toss in next week.

The pieces do look nice, however...But...

Haha, how did you manage to get your feet in so many of the pics?

Be careful of those toes!! Your garage floor looks like mine with the gray paint peeling and cardboard boxes.

Anyway, please post pics of the self install. I am considering doing this myself also.

I struggled with that thought too but not really concerned about it now that I've seen and held these things first hand.

The aluminized tubing is pretty thick... IMO it's gonna have to see some really harsh usage over a long period of time to get these things to fall apart and wouldn't doubt they last as long as the headers. From the attention to detail on the x-pipe and the welds looking strong, you can tell they gave as much attention to the rest of the system and not just the headers.

There are other good choices out there. I'd definitely think you couldn't go wrong with Kooks. Good luck with your decision making.

Ditto. In the same boat myself... but that setup looks nice regardless of what material was used.
