Halltech Venom Installed...

Interesting to see that the LS1 in my '03 vert has the same airbox lid as my '01 Z06 did w/ the small hole on top. Older LS1s had no hole, and the '02-'04 Z has the big hole.

Swapped the Venom from my Z06 to the new vert. Cleaned it up and re-oiled the filter etc. I also setup the air pump line to attach to the bottom of the filter and used a spare piece of air pump hose I had to make a straight OEM looking connection vs. twisting/bending the stock tubing.

The Halltech intake has much larger filter made by Donaldson, a much larger and smoother air bridge, and a smooth coupler to attach to the throttle-body vs. the oem accordion setup. The biggest different with this CAI is that it repositions the MAF just forward of the throttle-body vs. the stock location at the end of the air bridge just after the airbox. This is the OEM location fo the LS3 and LS7 and provides a more accurate MAF reading due to straighter airflow. All this translates into preventing lean codes on an otherwise stock car.

Butt-meter approves... car will smoke the tires from a 1st gear roll vs. just a little chirp before.

It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble a car and 1 nut to scatter it all over the road.

Re: Halltech Venom Installed...

We'll see... I've got an H-pipe off a 2003 Z sitting in the garage with a Corsa-X in the mail (got it used off the forums). Going to put that setup on the car and see how she feels and hit the dyno to see what kind of power the car makes. I never bothered with a baseline. If the air/fuel shows a tune could net enough power to make it worthwhile then I'll go that route. Trying to see how much power I can extract w/ minimal mods... don't want to do headers.

If I ever decide I need more power I'll probably try a A&A supercharger this time around after going the cam route in my Z06.
