Finally got around to getting my own 2 post lift and installed it last week and started taking the car apart yesterday so I can take the short block out and send it back to the engine builder for diagnostic and repair. (I think it spun a rod bearing at 1700 miles). Should have the drive train out tomorrow night or Wednesday and strip everything off the short block and get it sent out no later than next monday. Here are a few pics of the lift, my car and a few other cars in the shop, including my GN which is headed to Z06 Dad's sometime in the next couple of days.
the pile of parts is growing:
shop is pretty full:
THe GN:
Johnny's Badazz Camaro:
Rusty's Willys:
I'll update this thread as I progress through the work. My business work load will only allow me to work on it a few hours a night for the next month or so, and I'm sure it'll be a month or so before I get the engine back from LME once I ship it there. With any luck at all it should be alive again by Thanksgiving.

Best of luck buddy.... Hoping all goes well and no bloody knuckles. Let me know what you think of the lift, I have someone interested in my 4-post lift...

Nice shop Jim! Sure wish I had a shop like that. Working on cars might be fun again.
Good luck getting Blue back together. May the car and engine Gods smile down on you and may the winds of Motrin be at your sail.
Seconds on everything Jub said here Jim......
Hope all goes well with LME and they don't drag their feet, get right on it and set up for you.
Best to you buddy for a nice return!!
I'm sure glad you are not at the mercy of someone else for shop use. Buying that two post is the best thing you could have done. Now you can take your time, schedule when you wish and get it done when you get it done.
Nice job Jimbo.

Sorry if you guys misunderstood, but while I wish the shop was mine, it belongs to a friend of mine here who does street rod interiors and builds street rods also. It's a building he purchased that's right across the street from his main shop. (he's the guy who did my EB seats). We worked out a deal that's mutually beneficial and I'm renting space from him for a very reasonable sum. My own shop is currently full of parts and construction equipment and has no heat or lights, so the lift will stay at Johnny's until I finish my "barn" sometime in the next few years. The shop I normally use is extremely busy, so there was no way I could schedule it for the extended period of time that's needed for this rebuild. This winter, when I have time off from business related BS, I'm going to help him finish the place and make it the best it can be. (air lines throughout, more lighting, shelves etc.)
Thanks for the good wishes everyone!
Good to hear, Jim ... hell, take your time! take the rest of the year! ... just make sure you have it done by Jan, as the Lembo clan looks to newborn excitement!
Hope all goes well on all fronts, my good man ...
Nice setup Jim. That should make things a bit easier. Good luck with the rebuild. I am anxious to see the blue girl with her new heart
