Seems like someone is going to try just swapping the heads on the 2002 and newer Z06 to get how much of an improvement?
These heads are 2182 dollars..with dual springs rated up to .600 lift. (if you want springs rated above .600 lift add 80 dollars...) and these heads tested had the $100 option to raise the compression ratio to 11.25 which is fine for 93 octane. so the full cost of these heads giving an extra 40rwhp and 23 lb/ft of torque over ls6 heads is? 2362 dollars..
Thats pretty impressive with the G3X5 cam.
Will it be 30rwhp and15lb/ft of torque on a stock 2002 and newer Z06 with stock cam? for 1700 net cost after selling stock ls6 heads for about 800 ? figuring 300 in labor? (thats over and above a Z06 that has headers already?)
For those with headers it might just happen...
and the worst case scenerio you could figure to just drop an aftermarket cam in if it doesn't happen. Depending on cam it sounds like the power of the new built motor with cam should range between 440-450 rwhp (224/224 cam) and 485rwhp with the LG G3X5 cam. Just make the decision on which cam you would go with so you order the springs according before hand.
I seem to remember a lot of people asking this question about just swapping heads and leaving the cam stock.
