Hi gang! This is what my hood liner looks like. I was wondering if any of you have had a liner in this condition and attempted a repair (i.e. contact cement and paint touchup) or just replaced it.
I'm tempted to try a repair, but wouldn't mind a new one with the Corvette logo painted like I've seen in other pictures. Any thoughts?

Buy a new one embroidered with some beautiful emblem work from Carmotorsports.com in Georgia. That's where I got the liners for both my Z16 and my Grand Sport.

Decided a new hood liner was a bit pricey for me right now, especially with other projects that need to be done on my Z06. So, after a little research I decided to do a refurb. Nothing new here; you guys have probably seen other posts of refurbs on hood liners. But I'm really pleased with the results:
Here's the hoodliner before.....
And here's the results.....
It's not perfect. The material to the right of the emblem was severely deteriorated. Very difficult to reattach to the base material. Because of it's condition there are a few wrinkles especially around the hood light fixture. The new emblem (stick-on decal) was a challenge too. On to the next project!

For those who have removed it, are there any issues with engine heat damaging the paint on the underside of the hood over time? I don't track the car but lots of time spent stuck in traffic during ridiculously hot Chicago summers...
