I won the war with GM !

My story just goes to show That you need to find the right dealer to do your service work for you. About this time last year I bought My 2001 vert with 12K on the clock. It had over a years worth of factory warranty left on the car and that was one of the big reasons I paid the extra $$$ for the car That I did.

From the first day I had it. I noticed at 75+mph there was a gear type whine when you were getting on the gas. The noise would go away when you got off the gas. Well, I take it into the first dealer and they tell me its normal and they give me some GM bulletin stating that low RPM gear noise it acceptable. Well 3 dealers later and basically the same Bunch of BS I decided to try a basically Corvette only dealership

I came to jack cauley IN Detroit. This place is top notch let me tell you! The service manager went with me for a ride and He could hear the noise. He even said "yeah That would drive me nuts if this wear my car " Well I gave it to them on Tuesday, wensday They figured out the problem. Im getting a new axle carrier supposedly this is the entire ring/pinion along with a bunch of other bearings. They overnighted the part so Its getting installed today "Thursday " and it will be ready to get picked up on Friday Im so happy to get this noise fixed! I only have a month left on the warranty and was dreading having to fork out the $$$ myself. If your in the detroit area and need work done on your vette Jack cauley is the place to go !

Nice... should have had them throw in some gears while they're covering the labor. Also, be easy on the car for a few hundred miles to let the new rear end break it.

Hey that was my 1000th post on Z06vette.com

Cobra,

You are a man who knows about going to war with The General (of course it didn't hurt that you were dealing with a female DM. ).

Glad to hear that things are working out. Now you will need to just spend more of your time in that band range!

Yep... I laid out a logical argument as to why I should get a free extended warranty, didn't yell or bitch, and wrote a few letters to people in high places. Now I'm sportin' a 3-year extended warranty for free =)
