Inflated Dyno? 04 Z06 125k miles!!!

Just got off the dyno yesterday at JPC performance in Millersville, MD and wow, I was shocked at the numbers..

Mods- SW 1 7/8 headers, 3" catted x-pipe, Corsa Pace catback, K&N, Diablo predator tuned..

Even if the dyno reads high, I still think she's doing well for the miles on it!!

NIce numbers!
They say they get faster once they are "broken in" (I think yours qualifies)

It's a freak. Nothing wrong with that. I think my 02 made 372 with just a filter.

on what dyno?

I'm really not worried about what the number says, just glad it runs well, and hoping to get a nice trap speed...

Let me ask a newbie question. My 2004 Z06 has a little emblem that says "405 HP" on the sides. Therefore I've always assumed it puts out about 405 HP.

Yet it seems from this thread that it's an exaggeration, unless I'm misreading something here?

Re: Inflated Dyno? 04 Z06 125k miles!!!

It's supposedly 405 hp at the flywheel, give or take (usually more).

As Tom indicated, rwhp is considerably different than flywheel horsepower (which car companies use in their advertising and promotions).

The 405 hp is relatively accurate from what I've seen dyno'd on stock C5Z's (after adding back in the drive train loss).

Car made 334whp with 90k miles, all stock on a Dynojet... Even though it was on a different dyno this time, +65whp give or take is
