ipod to Corvette

I just wasted my money for a new radio/nav system on my wheels (See Here For more)

Now i don't have XM or iPod, and I at least need my iPod. The FM transmitters just aren't cutting it quality wise

Isn't there a way to connect something to somewhere so that I have a regular 1/8 inch stereo jack coming out somewhere so I can just flip my radio to aux and play my iPod?

Obviously I have stock radio - single CD.

What parts do I need and how do I do it myself?

THANKS!

check out Pac-audio.com they have couple alternatives. I have the aux-pod in mine and i luv it. i can hook up the ipod in the glove box and forget about it. the unit allows you to control some functions from the head unit. also turn it off and charges it when the radio is off.

I don't quite understand the iPod attraction. Can someone explain why you would want one over something like an iPaq that can run:
word
excel
office

play:
mp3s
wmv videos
views photos

Sync's with my work and home PC for:
contacts
calendar
tasks
email
quicken
data files

Supports:
-Bluetooth
-Wi-Fi
-Compact Flash cards
-SD memory

just curious.......

Since you still have your factory radio, you can add an iPod or XM radio to it using the AUX feature. I just added an XM Commander this way. What you need to buy:
1 CD Changer Harness
1 PIE GM10-AUX adaptor
1 RCA Cable to iPod adaptor
I bought my CD Changer harness and AUX adaptor from Litewarehouse. Tuan Le at Litewarehouse is great. Install is EASY!! At the passenger floorboard is where you plug in the CD Changer harness. I then layed the additional harness back and forth under the carpet at the door sill. Then, you plug in the AUX Adaptor into the harness, then your RCA Adaptor for your iPod into the AUX Adaptor. Now you are set with tunes!!

QuikZilver,

Could you elaborate a little on where exactly in the footwell you connected the CD changer harness (maybe some pics?) and the PIE GM10-AUX adaptor. I removed the kickplate panel and to be honest with you, I'm not really sure WTF I'm looking at!!

I found a company that sells this:

iON cable adapter for iPODs

The company is called:

mp3yourcar

It's an expensive solution but it will allow you to control your iPOD from the stock head unit and keep the iPOD's battery charged.

Using your solution, are you able to control the iPOD from the stock head unit at all? And what about power for the battery?

Thanks!

Larry
