Just a quick question or two..

Hi, i recently purchased an 03 Z and I absolutely LOVE it!

I will be making some ugrades in the near future and i will require some assistance as I am not the most informed when it comes to engines and such.

For now I have only been adding inexpensive parts ( have to recoup from that initial hit from buying the car )

My first question involves this VR Velocity Stack that supposedly eliminates the need for a ported throttle body. Its a very inexpensive item, I was just wondering if anyone has bought this and if it even really works like advertised.

Im sure ill have many more questions in the future, but for now GREAT SITE and lots of info here..LOVE IT!

I would pass on the VS. Save your money and get a cold air intake, if you don't have one. Do a search for other mods as well.

Good luck and welcome aboard.

Alex

Re: Just a quick question or two..

Thanks for the replies. I didnt really think it could do all that it advertised. Too late though, i ordered it already on a whim.. Ill find some use for it i guess.. im pretty creative.

Just realized this car has JBA shorty headers on it while i was changing the air filter. Car max said it was bone stock! Ive read there is minimal power gains from these, is this true.

Also, would like to do a cam first then heads next year. I was considering the G5X3, is this ok for a daily driver? I will also add a pulley when installing cam. What else could be done that is affordable while adding the cam? My goal is around 420whp. There is a very annoying cobra in my neighborhood that insists on taunting me everytime i go out. He says he has around 440whp and the one time i did actually race him side by side from a honk he did pull me, not by alot but his was definately the faster car on that day. So i figured with the weight difference that i could beat him with around 420whp. Is this fair to assume? Thanks

Almost forgot.. i also bought a high flow power duct for the air intake to go with the KN filter. Will this give me good results over stock setup? Will it be worth it to upgrade to a CAI. I spent almost two hundred on the duct and filter would like to use them if possible. Is there a CAI that i could use the power duct and the KN filter with?

Thanks

I would add headers (LTs) also if you want the most for your money. The JBAs aren't much of an improvement over stock. Cam and pulley should be good enough for now.
