After searching and reading through the various posts here, I just want to make certain that 315/30/18 is the largest rear tire for a C5 Z06 with stock rims.
Also, want to make sure that there is no cutting of brake ducts and spacers required.
Any input is appreciated!
Cheers,
Jim

I've been running 315-30-18's on my car for a couple of years Jim. They fit the stock rim size and don't stick out past the fender lip. Can't say about the rear brake ducts as I removed mine years ogo when I was running 335 drag radials on 18x12" rims. (aftermarket) I need to put them back on, and I'm pretty sure the 315's will clear with the ducts on. I've never heard any different.

Thanks Jimbo. Im pretty sure after the ZSpeedFest I am going to need new rear tires and figued I would go big!

stock is 26.12 for 295/35-18
only issue with running a 315/30-18 is that the circ is off a bit.
circ-25.44
stock front is 25.34..

It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble a car and 1 nut to scatter it all over the road.
Thanks Blaze. That small difference shouldnt impact active handling or anything like that would it?

Im interested to know as well, will 315 tire be larger so that they actually *make round* hence reduce the surface touching the road?(with road racing in mind here not drag) Thank you!

I have 275-40-17's in front with the 315-30-18's in back and NO issues with AH/TC at all. I have read on other forums where some have had issues because of the diameters front to back being too close. I have always called BS on that simply because I haven't had any codes, ever!

Not sure I understand what you're trying to say with "make round". The wheel size remains constant at 18" so if anything, there will be more rubber on the road so to speak.
Again, not sure I understand what you mean by "make round"
Cheers,
Jim

Right now I am running 275/40/17s on the front as well and 305/35/18s on the back with zero issues.

Re: Largest rear tires on C5 Z
I run 315/30 on stock rear wheels for HPDEs. My only complaint is that you can feel the car shift on the tire in fast transitions. The rim really needs to be a half inch wider. Once I got past the spooky factor, it was OK. They don't rub anywhere.

Hmm i tried to draw what i mean, its exaggerated but i think it shows what i mean by the tire making a round if its too large for the rim, i may be all wrong and tell me if i am please Thanks!

Re: Largest rear tires on C5 Z
The picture helps. Yes, the tires stick out beyond the face of the rim. Here's a picture of a 315/30 on a 10.5" stock wheel. The tire extends nearly 1/2" (12mm) from the rim face on each side.
The "excess tire" is the reason a 10.5" rim isn't optimal for the tire. The tire moving side to side is the cause of the unpleasant sensation in transitions I was describing above. I got used to it.

We're running in a street tire class with our '03 Z06 ... using the rear wheel size in front, 18 X 9.5 with a 315/30/18 Kumho XS tire and a custom 17X12 CCW in the rear with 335/35/17 XS's.
The 18's give us great steering, the 17" rears help get the power down.
The rear wheels have about 3/8th inch off-set added so that we don't rub the fender liner on the inside.
