Lowering Help !

Guys, Im a new member to the forum. I have been anxiously awaiting the day I lower my car. Before I do this I want to make sure I have all the facts. I would like to achieve a 1.5-2.0 total drop. I have read all the threads regarding this issue. I am going to buy the bolt kit from xtreme motorsports for the rear. My question is, can you lower the front 1.5-2.0 inches with stock bolts? Do they sell a bolt kit for the front??? I have been told you can only get a MAX. of 1in. all around with stock bolts. Any help would be great. Thanks

Electron,
Most people who have lowered their Z06s, including me, only get about 3/4" in the front and about 1" in the rear with stock bolts.
The rear bolts can be purchased from any good bolt company for about $7 to lower the rear as much as you want.
The front is another story.
If you take the front adjuster out completely you might get 2" lower. Maybe not.
Very few people have lowered their cars 2" in the front.
My recommedation is to lower your car as low as you can with the stock bolts and live with it a few weeks. See how you like the ride,
road clearance, etc.
Dave

I cut 2/3rds of the bushing off the front bolt, and replaced it, turned all the way down to get as low as possible.

On the back, I bought 1/2"x7" grade 8 bolts from a hardware store for $1.50 a piece...I left ~1/2" of the bolt left sticking above the nut on each side.

Here's what it looks like:

Thanks for the help. TAM, how much did you end up lowering your car. It has a really nice stance to it. Looks to me about 2in in the rear and 1.5 in the front. Is that pretty close?

be careful lowering that far, you're taking the suspenion outside of its normal range of adjustment. (its going to be tough to get sane suspension settings that low.

I have mine lowered that low also and when I went in to get a wheel alignment my mechanic said there was just enough adjustment to get it back to spec!
