Ls1 Weight

Can anyone tell me what the weight of an LS engine is or where to find the answer? Thanks David.

Guess that splains why I haven't toasted my clutch system yet. It's a matter of time.

Note, the weight of the manual version of the LS1 and LS6 actually weigh the same, it's the auto version that's lighter. This is because the engine ships with a flywheel and clutch system on a manual car, on an automatic car the engine ships with only a thin flexplate, and the weight of the torque convertor is included with the transmission.

The LS6 does have an upgraded clutch, but it weighs roughly the same as an LS1 clutch.

YUP! Mine's toast, waiting for the time needed to install my LS7 clutch. It worked great while it lasted (60k miles), but all good things must come to an end.
