My Clutch pedal just did the "Fandango"...

First the oil burning like retreating "Eyerackee's"...

Then the burrowing brake pedal from hell...

Well - tonight I experienced the "bottomless" clutch pedal... (on the way home from the dealership that just fixed my brake booster no less.... go figure.

So - an open question to the folks who have experienced the clutch pedal stuck on the floor syndrome...

What can I expect after this? What am I in for next? Will I experience many more examples of the clutch on the floor? Any other symptoms I can look out for?

Is their a TSB I can reference for them to fix? (Munday Chevrolet, Houston, was really good this week - they did the brake booster job under warrenty - no questions asked - even rented me a car for 3 days)

Comments and discussion welcome.

-Paul

Yes. I saved this after reading it in another post sometime ago:

Quote:
Tell your service tech to look in the Service VME for PI00206 "Clutch Pedal Does Not Return When Depressed"or Document ID # 710639 "Clutch Pedal Sticks or Binds". When the clutch pedal sticks or binds during clutch pedal travel there might be a faulty bushing or a worn or damaged release bearing, or Document ID # 710628 "Pedal Stays on Floor (Clutch Disengaged)". Inspect the clutch pedal for a loose or worn clutch pedal spring. If the clutch pedal stays to the floor you should check the master cylinder for improper fluid level or faulty parts. Also inspect the hydraulic hoses or pipes for damage or even leaks. Inspect the clutch diaphragm springs to see if they are broken.
Hope that helps.

Thanks a million.

That is perfect.

For the record, any folks in Houston who need Corvette knowledgeable and friendly dealers (service department - not sales - I have yet to meet a non-shark car salesman) I have had excellent service from McHaik (re-ring) and Munday (brake booster).

Both did warranty work without effort - and on site rental agency means easy $30.00 rental car paid for by GM - no need to rent and claim money later.
