New Twin Turbo Cartek Z06 coming to life.....

Well, we're in the home stretch now. Went to Cartek this morning to check on the progress and check out the intercooler that came in yesterday. I hope to be racing this beast On July 31st at the Vette vs. Viper shootout at MIR. Anyway, here are a few pics:

You can see the turbo on the passenger's side but the driver's side is almost completely out of view. See below:

How 'bout those Tial waste gates:

Two shots of the turbos from underneath the car:

Intercooler:

Headers:

Intake and new fuel rails:

Too bad the blow off valve wasn't attached because it looks pretty cool (red adonized).

I hope the next post I make is of the dyno sheet.

Paul

That's awesome Paul! I can't wait to see what times you produce with that beast.

Very nice Paul. Looks like they shoe-horned the turbos in there a lot like the LPE setup

Thanks, guys.

I really don't want to speculate what the initial hp numbers will be, so I'm going to wait until later this week to post the first dyno graphs. Knowing Cartek, I'm sure I won't be disappointed. I think it's safe to assume that the first numbers will be north of 700 rwhp, though. The plan right now is to start with about 15 lbs of boost, see how the car runs, increase boost if everything stays together, see how the car runs, increase the boost..... well, you get the idea. How cool would it be to hit that magic 1000 rwhp mark on a 346 cid motor? Oh, yeah, don't forget all of this is happening atop of my lil' ol' 346.

Sounds like a great HP package Paul! Are they using a forged rotating assembly?

Hey Paul. I don't think 1000rwhp would be out of the question. Supra makes that kind of power with an inline 6! With the right fuel and tuning you should be able to make that happen.

For some reason supras turbos are alot cheaper also. Ive seen single turbo kits go for 4k. Add a fuel system for about 3k and a boost controller and they are hitting 800-1300rwhp. But they have been out for 11 years so maybe they have more R&D. Good luck on your project, keep us updated.

Well, everything we've put into this car is rated for over 1000 hp and we've taken just about every step necessary to increase the life expectancy of the engine and drivetrain.

I, too, think it's quite possible to achieve over 1000 rwhp. I'm not a dyno queen so it's actually more important for me to get down the 1320 as quickly as possible without breaking too often than to post huge dyno numbers. I'd rather run 850 rwhp and click off low 9s than have 1000 at the wheels and spin all the way down the track.

It's one thing to make that power on a dyno, quite another to actually use it at a track reliably. In my experience, most of these Supra's making big power are Show Cars & Dyno Queens.....
