Oil Change and the UPF44 Filter

I gave my Z06 it's first oil change today (945 miles) I lucked out and found only one auto parts store selling the AC Delco UPF44 oil filter. He had 9 of them in stock and told me" that there would be no more, because they stopped making them." I bought all 9 at a reduced price of $7.45 each, they normally sell for $10.40.
I heard before that AC was not going to make them anymore, then I heard that they were. So, ...Are they..or Aren't they making them anymore?

They did stop for a while but enough people complained so they are making them again. However I have not heard who is making them this time so we don't know if the new ones are of as good a quality as the previous ones.

The GM parts list uses the same number and the filter has the same spec's. I would assume it's the same vendor? Can't believe the volume would be enough to put this out to bid a new contract.

FYI:

The part number for the UPF-44 Oil Filter is 25329389.

Check with your local GM dealer for availability.

Does anyone have an update on the availability of this filter? Is it still available?

I thought I was ordering 3 and received 3 cases 18 filters. I sold one but I'm still good for a while.

I bought them from LAPD I think?

Have Fun!

When I had my oil changed at the dealer a month ago, the UPF part number was automatically forwarded to the PF series in their parts computer. There was no separate listing.

The filter was supposed to be still in production, but I've seen no positive proof as yet.

I can take a pic of the case I bought last week if you want. They are out there, just a little hard to find.

Thanks, but I believe they're out there; I just don't know whether they're new or new old stock. If they're still available, perhaps GM has fixed the referencing problem. Hope so, anyway, and congrats on your good fortune.

Goto GM Parts Direct and enter Part Number 25329389. Comes up at $6.00 each. If you order a case (6 filters total) it comes up just short of $44.00 with shipping (about $7.34/each).

That suggests it's been resolved. In either event, thanks for posting.
