old oil question

I looked through the threads but didn't see anything recent. What is the deal with the z06 and as I just read the hardtops of 2000 eating oil? do all vetts do this? Just Z06's just hardtops? did they correct the problem? what are people doing about this if they have the problem? and last but not least if they corrected the problem or it doesn't exist in some cars (I read just in ones manufactured after september 200) how do you tell if a car you are interested in getting has the problem? Thanks for your help guys...

Improper ring tension. Search for "oil consumption" or "oil-burner"

There was a thread not too long ago, another $50,000 oil burner or something.....
