OK< OK< OK. The BLUT tape on MY would be OK if you didn't do a ragged job of applying. Try putting it in a uniform width or at least joing the ends all around the bottom of the car, prefereably in a wavy pattern like the surf! Then we could all say, "Tubular, Dude!"

I just ordered it from this site:

http://www.pmzgroup.com/isc_racers_tape.html

It's $5.00 for the large (90 ft) roll. They have about every color.

Painter's tape can be picked up anywhere - Home Depot, Wal-Mart, etc.
You can order the "racer's tape" from the places they mentioned, or head to your local motorcycle shop and see if they have it in stock. Bike guys have to tape up their windscreens at most of the track days so they ususally have it in stock.

My finance picked it up for me before my last track day. She got me the blue because it matches the EB reasonably well!!

Sorry for dredging up this thread again..

I tried the blue painter's tape and it worked great! I put it on before the 3 hour drive over to Gingerman. There were many bugs on the car from the trip over and then the car sat overnight in very dewy conditions. The car was literally wet the next morning. A few pieces came up, but I put them back down and covered over them with more tape. I then drove a full track day with very few casualties. At the end of the track day, I pulled off the loose pieces and drove 3 hours home on the highway. I'd have to say that the stuff worked great.

That being said.. I was a little embarrassed about having a black car with all this blue tape all over it. I have been thinking about racer's tape and that's why I dug up this thread.

My question is that since Racer's tape sticks even better than the blue painter's tape, will I have problems pulling this stuff off of my car? Will it leave a lot of residue? If anyone here has tried both the blue painter's tape and the racer's tape, please let me know what the differences are. The blue tape wasn't bad at all to remove, but if the racer's tape is much more difficult to remove, I might stay a geek and use the painter's tape.

Also.. I was reading that there are different levels of stickiness for this tape. One site said that this tape is used for holding body panels together. I hardly need anything like this. I'm looking for the mildest racers tape out there. Any idea where I can find this?

TIA,

Bob

PS.. This is what my car looked like at the end of the track day right before the drive home.
