Reduced Engine Power / Service TC

Drove home tonight from work tonight...nothing eventful as far as pushing the car. Just as I was about to turn the key to off I got the messages Reduced Engine Power and Service TC. I turned the car off, waited a few seconds, re-started and got the messages again.

Came inside, changed and cooled off (15 minutes) and went back out...this time no codes. Took around the block and all was fine. Power was tested up to 130 mph w/ no problems.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any words of advice?

Thanks,

JWz06

Did you check the DTC codes, to see if anything Historic......I've seen that but only when turning the key to on position with intake off to the throttle body.

Checked the codes. The most frequent codes were U1016 H and U1096 H.

Others include U1088 H, U1176 H, and U1160 H. These are loss of communication codes between various of the car's modules.

Should I be concerned?

Again, restarted and it ran like a champ with no messages.

If you haven't done so already, clear all the codes and then drive a day and recheck for the codes again.

It was probably an electrical glitch, and may never repeat itself.

I am wondering if a car wash could have caused this. I stopped to fill up and went through a "No Touch" wash. The water blasts out pretty hard and may have gotten into the eletronics. Just a theory.

In any event, thanks for the tips. I cleared the codes and will keep a close eye on it.

Regards,
