Reduced Engine Power-Service Vehicle Soon

I got these 2 messages on the DIC today when I started my car.I have 6000+ miles on the car and have never seen these 2 warnings before.I noticed the temp gauge was at 260+. check gauges light on the Hud was on, and the passenger side window would not work. the car had not been driven in a day or so.All temps. were cold. I shut it off, checked oil,it was fine. i got back in started it back up,and everything was normal? I did not hit the reset button, took it for a ride everthing normal Has anyone seen these ? Owner's manual says have vehical checked if this message keeps appearing? I have not had a problem with the car to this point, any input would be great,,,steve.

Hey, Microsoft doesn't have exclusive rights to software that's buggy. GM has a cross licensing agreement that allows them to include classic "Microsoft" style bugs in their code too.

Nothing better for one of these than a quick reboot.

Only difference is that on a PC, you get the Blue Screen of Death and you get to give it the classic "three finger salute" (CTRL-ALT-DEL).

In the Corvette, you get a much more entertaining "christmas tree light" experience with the dashboard indicators (it is kind of pretty, all those indicators lit up and the bell ringing and all), but your only option to deal with it is the much less dynamic turn-the-key-off-then-on solution...

Have you checked your battery for leakage? Could be acid leaking down to your computer causing erroneous readings.
