Dave:

I use Valvoline, Pyriol as a spare for all the cars in case I need some pwr/steering fluid in one. Unless I'm doing a hose change I really don't ever use any.

Specs- meet GM,Ford and Morpar standards.

1- keeps seals & O-rings pliable, 2- prevents corrosion, oxidation & wear,3- used year round but where your at your weather is pretty constant, 4- stop leaks.

You can get this fluid at auto zone, advanced auto. Not sure who carries it on the islands but someone does. If not you still have the dealership.

Dave,
As I have to remove my power steering reservoir and steering rack everytime my motor is out, which it is right now for pre-Runoffs rebuild and blueprint, I have had to replace my power steering fluid several times.
I have been using Havoline power steering fluid for about a year now with no problems. I bought it because it was easy to find at most auto parts stores.
Havoline meets GM spec 9985010, but I'm not sure if this is the correct spec for the C5/Z06 and I don't have my service manual or owners manual to check it. Sorry.

Lucas or Valvoline Syn. but I change fluids after each event. In the H/D trucks(Petes and Kenworths-Cat Equipment) WE use only Chevron Delo 15-40 oil in both PS and Auto transmissions.Delo is rated as a Hydraulic fluid also.

Thanks, actually that's what I ended up using too. Couldn't find anything else that met the GM Spec.....I'm a big fan of Redline anyway!

NP! I do the "fill and bleed" method about 4 or 5 times over the course of a week to get it as close to 100% Redline fluid. Then about 2 weeks later I do a final purge and fill, bleed it and top it off after a day or two. The Redline PS fluid is compatible according to them but I feel better knowing it's all the right stuff.
