Slipping Clutch ends 1/4 career!

First time, cherry drag event at Capitol RW Sep 12.
I'll divulge how bad I am in separate post!
This is a stock Z on stock tires, with 5k miles and fewer than a dozen hard launches.
Problem.
5th pass (not long after 4th) I get good (for me) launch, then some judder, then revs and no speed in 1st (I think I'm spinning... get second (no powershift), same (I smell something - think it's tires), get third ... and figure out my clutch is slipping (and smelling badly), so I shut down, coast thru, ease back, pick up slip, and park on the cool down line.
I talked to a couple guys (Mike Siska was there and speculated that I might have been riding the pedal between shifts and heating the clutch ... and he may be right)
I read all the threads on clutch pedal staying on floor ... did not experience that.
Did not run again, functioned fine going home. I tried downshifting third to second about 30 with no throttle ... clutch bit fine and skidded the tires on deceleration.
Did a DE at Summit Fri, Sep 17 ... no problems ... two sessions in rain, two on damp/dry track, so worked the clutch up and down on acceleration/deceleration ... no problems.
Did lo speed AutoX Sun, 19th ... again no problems.
Methinks I might have heated the clutch and/or clutch fluid on 4th run, and it didn't have enough cool-down time going up for 5th run
SO ... should I not worry about it, work on technique, pay attention to my feet, and go out again?

(I intend to replace clutch fluid with Motul RBF this fall)

Hard to say... Do what he said^, and take it each day to see how it holds up. I can say the stock clutch is far from heavy duty, so don't expect a real long life. I predict mine to be shot by 9,000 miles with about one DE per 1,000 miles on my clutch.
