Sneak attack by the birds! Help!!

My baby got hit in a raid the other night by some ill-tempered avian thugs and she's very upset right now. They got her on the hood which I'd just had repainted two weeks ago!

It was a night attack so I didn't see it until the next day. By the time I got it off with some spray-cleaner it was too late - their ordinance had left it's permanent mark on the brand new finish.

Is there a good way that I can make the damage disappear, or at least hide it? It stands out boldly on the otherwise beautiful hood. I'd like to avoid abrasives if at all possible... I've had bad luck with those in the past and I don't want to have random scratched-up areas of the hood glaring at the world. I do have a collection of Zaino products that I normally use - I was thinking the swirl-mark filler may help but I'm not sure if it's strong enough. I'm open to trying whatever will help.

The car is black BTW, which I know doesn't help the situation.

Thanks!

I've had good luck with Meguiars ScratchX. It's mildly abrasive, but I feel that's what it is going to take to get the etching out of the clear coat.

I'm a little surprised at this. I've had bird poop sit on my paint for several days and it washed right off with no damage at all. What the hell are your birds eating that gives them acid crap??
