OMP makes a nice seat. I was debating OMP vs Cobra and bought the Cobra simply to support a friend's goal to get enough of an order from Cobra to be a Cobra dealer.
IMO I disagree Sparco > Cobra The Cobra kevlar shell alone is of higher strength material than the Sparco's basic fiberglass shell. The Cobra materials are very durable and fade resistant as well. Same isn't the case for Sparco.
Cobra makes a VERY high quality seat at a price that doesn't give you a complete heart attack like some others. That said, their support/customer service could stand to be a bit better sometimes.
Taking seats out to clean up a stupid water leak from window seal up top... FML so much water, headliner and everything need to come out, looking for good sealant now, if you have any suggestions let me know otherwise im heading out to pick up some silicone sealant similar to the 3m stuff i have read about.
Its a seat bracket made by planted And yes cutout is for anti sub belt. I have all belts (5pt)mounted along with harness bar. Ill post some more pics this week, I have the seat out right now to dry out my carpet. Im installing a slider on driver side as well, using omp slider. It has to be said that most any seat install is tight in the vettes! If the shoulder wings don't get damn close to the door, then it's the seat base that is a tight fit. The easiest install was using a seat with bottom mount option, this way you might be able to use existing stock powered mount, this is what my friend did with a sparco seat. Also you will want to decide if you want stock seat belts or harness or both, I have both but it was difficult. Friend has just sparco seats and stock seat belts and says it's great, I prefer a harness on track days, but stock belts are great for street driving, the seats rake, grippy material, and lateral support make a huge diff even with just stock belt.

Reason: Link to non site vendor
decided to add some more pictures of the seat now that i have it out of the car. I was installing the slider. Man, lining this stuff all up is a pain, I am kinda anal retentive so i had the square out, marking lines and whatnot Now i just need to seal up the leaky window sill and I should be good to go, just in time too, i was missing this thing after only a week LOL.
Last image is OEM seat belt buckle mounted to tab on seat mount.
its pretty tight, some fasteners barely clear, but it seems to work
CHEERS!
Sorry, I forgot, its new to me as other forums I typically frequent aren't brand loyal so they allow us to post info on parts/tools especially if it's helpful info/product. ill remember from now on :(

Has nothing to do with brand loyalty.

Xfordguy, ill measure once I put the seat in. Do you just measure from helmet to roof, or seat to roof. Ill measure seat to roof for obvious reasons and if you have measurements on stock seat you can compare. When I put the omp in without slider it dropped me, im guessing, 2-3"? I remember having to drop the steering wheel a couple clicks. With my helmet, im 6', I have around 2+ inches. Ill measure and post as these are guesses from my last track day.

Re: sparco Evo Seats Vs. Cobra suzukas
I don't have a stock measurement, but hopefully someone with stock seats can provide a seat cushion to roof measurement for us. Gaining headroom was one of my goals in my seat swap. With a helmet, I was rubbing my head on the roof in stock seats. I still lightly touch it.

I just measured my stock driver's seat. Got 36.5-inches between the top of the seat cushion to the ceiling. This was without me sitting in it however.
Thx Vant, i plan to look into sound deadening material this week before i put the carpets back in, if i decide not to go that route then i should have the seat back in sometime this week if sealing up the water leaks works
