Squeaking Durastops

Last month I installed Durastop ceramic pads because of brake dust. I never really had a squeaking problem with the stock pads, but I do now on just one of the wheels with the Durastops, and it's bad.

I've put several hundred miles on them, tried hard braking, reverse braking with no luck. The rotors look perfectly smooth. I didn't apply the lubricant which came in the kit but it's my understanding that it's for damping chatter.

Anybody have any ideas on how I can remedy this?

Thanks,

-John

Sounds like you did everything you should have tried to stop the sqeaking. Either they are glazed or there is some sort of contamination on that rotor. Try a couple more hard decelerations from about 70 down to about 15 mph (don't stop) and make sure the rotors are clean.

You could also try swapping pads side to side and see if the squeaking changes to the new side. That will help determine if it's the pads or the rotor.
