I am hoping someone can help me, I am having a custom shift knob made for my 01 Z but I can't seem to find out what the thread size is on the original shifter, does anybody out there know what it is?

I've mounted my "Retro Hurst T-handle" on my '02 Red Z06which was on my very first new car a 68 GTO. It sits about an inch lower than the factory leather knob. I believe the threads are 9/16" od with a pitch of 18 threads per inch UNF.
