What's best when storing the car more than 3 months? REMOVE the battery and bring inside where I can trickle charge, or KEEP the battery in the car and trickle charge in a Very Cold garage? I live in Maine where the nightime temp can reach -10 degrees. Thanks for your input.
I don't have the cold storage problem out here, but I have heard that many just hook up a Battery Tender Plus while still on in the vehicle and forget about it. Some do a fresh oil change as well.
A Battery Tender Plus can be connected to the battery and forgotten about. Plugging it in for a few hours on the weekend isn't as good as just leaving it connected all the time. Don't confuse "trickle chargers" with today's "float" chargers. Trickle chargers will eventually kill a battery. Today's state of the art chargers, like the Battery Tender Plus, will not harm the battery if left unattended for months and months.
I looked all over when I first needed a float charger, trying to find a Battery Tender. Turns out Sears sells a DieHard float charger that I bought. Has worked great for the last three years and cost about 30 bucks.
I currently use the Deltran waterproof battery tender and absolutely love it. I have the leads hard-wired to my battery year round and use a pigtail quick disconnect. That way, when I know my Z06 will be sitting unused for any length of time, I just connect it and leave it on.
Here is a great site that has tons of information on batteries, how they work and the best way to store. Another member posted this a couple of years ago and it's one of the best sites I have come across.

Battery Tender is the way to go. Have three of them. Plug it in and forget about it. Warning don't try to get the cheapest one on the market..they usually are very low amp and don't work well in extremely cold weather. Been there done that. The Battery Tender has worked for me in all temps. Have one on my generator and it has been connected for six years now through the winter and summer and still working.
