I dont think youre goin to need a trans that'll take something like 1500 lb/ft. Unless you're making an obscene amount of power Transzilla would just be a waste of money.

Jesus...1300RWHP? What are you running and where (other than the drag strip) could you use that kind of power? Surely not the street. I would think all kinds of things are going to have to go to tough school to deal with that kind of power.

Good luck.

am I missing something? Youre saying you have made dyno pulls of over 1000 rwhp through the stock trans? Anyways, with that much power, there is no point in keeping a manual trans. You wont be able to use the power on the street, and at the track you will just keep breaking things. Go with a built TH400 or powerglide. Paul, as someone referred to earlier, has the quickest Z06 on the planet and runs a powerglide in a TT Z06. However, since you did ask for alternatives, RPM transmissions aka Rodney is highly recommended and is a forum sponsor (http://www.rpmtransmissions.com/)

Although, like I said, no manual trans is going to take 1300 to the wheels for very long without breaking every drivetrain part. My own $.02.

Rockland, who makes the Transzilla, makes a bunch of different T56 based transmissions. There ought to be something which will fit your application, whether by them or some company I've never heard of. I really don't know much about Transzilla in particular except from what I read in Hot Rod a little while ago... 1200 hp capable supposedly. No reason why a modified t56 shouldnt go into a c5. If it were I, I'd go with a manual transmission even if it meant that I had to sacrifice power. Then again I was never much of a drag racer.
