Stupid ME

Accidentally dropped my brake cylinder cap down the side of the engine bay during header install. How do I gain access to the drivers side front quarter panel to retrieve the cap. I can not get my hand in the vent nor can I reach it from below. A speedy reply would be greatly appreciated....

Say buddy,
You may try to remove the wheelwell liner, like when you install the vent screens. Or at least open it up. Not sure if this will help you. It's only a couple bolts/ screws, and the wheel being removed makes it easier. But then I may be wasting your time.

This should work.

Can you see it, and just not reach it? You can buy these remote 'grippy' things ... flexible cable with a spring-loaded button on one end and gripping claws on the other that open when you press the button. Pretty good for getting things you can see but not reach with your hand.

Ready to embrace the aging process, but I can't lift my arms.

What he said. I did the exact same thing as you (except it was the clutch cylinder cap) and had one of those flexible cable grabber things and got my cap back in a minute.

I dropped something down there this year. Can't remember what it was... but, I was able to squeeze my arm straight down in there from the top and grab it. Safe to say, I don't have big arms.
The suggestion to take off the rear wheel well liner is a good one. I have had this off to get to my accusump which is tucked in the pocket where you dropped your cap. I have also had the passenger side one on and off numerous times swapping my PCMs back and forth.
I have found it is easier to take that cover off if you take the wheel off first. Not required, but gives you a little more room to work with.
Good luck.

Thanks Guys, Was able to use a coat hanger from underneath. There is a vent opening right behind the front tire on the undercarriage.
