Suggestions for Cam for C5-R 427?

Finally pulled the trigger on a C5-R 427 Motor w/10.3 compression.

Still haven't finalized the cam specs.

Open to any suggestions anyone has.
(Not as astute about cam specs as much as I should be...)

I like to drive the car on weekends on the street, so I don't want anything that will attract too much attention. But at the same time, would like to be in the low 500 rwhp, not below. I visit the strip about half a dozen times a year for some real fun with my Vette buddies.
For example most of us have seen No Mercy's Z07 idling video.
I would find that engine a little too much for me.

Thanks for all your help!

I'm running a Cartek cam (236/242/.604/112LSA) in my 11.1:1 C5R 427. The car made 528 RWHP through the stock 3.42 rear, and has reasonably good street manners. It is a torque monster, making 440 RWT at 2500 rpm, peaking at 520. It would seem to be a waste to put much less cam in your 427 after spending the big bucks on the block, etc.

David:

For the moment, my county in Georgia does not test emissions. However, I suspect that between the cam and no-cats exhaust system, it would not fare well.

From experience, the LPE GT1-1 cam is "lumpy" in a 346, but "nice and muscular" in a 427. A good choice for "street and track" applications...
With CNC'd heads, should make 525 rwhp (or so) and upper 4's rwtq on a "mild" tune. A popular combo. Give LPE a call for particulars; they are a Forum Vendor.
PM me if more info is required about our applications.

Try Pete @ CNC Heads 727-527-8866. He has made me a set of heads with a custom ground cam for a 383 I built and currently has sent me a custom ground cam for a 01 Z06 I purchased that has a C5R 427 in it it is very mild so I went with a agressive cam 244-248 114+2 degree adv with 615lift on the ex and 612lift on the in. He also has some ideas on the intake side that you might want to consider.

Good Luck

229/242 with equal ratio in/ex rockers? I would change the head before I ran that cam.
