Suspension Mods

I'm used to a car (300ZX with aftermarket bars and bigger tires) that is very responsive. Goes exactly where you point it, WHEN you point it. I've been pretty disappointed with the Z06 in that regard. It has much higher limits than the ZX, but it's pretty sluggish going where you point it, and it floats down the road like a Winnebago compared to the ZX.

The Z06 is lighter and lower, with perfectly reasonable suspension geometry, so I have to believe it can be made more "alive" without wholesale replacing the suspension.

What I have in mind is switching to the 04 shocks, and the T1 bars, with stock springs. That, plus some extra camber all around and some front toe-out, seems like it should do it. Would love to have some feedback from those who've done similar stuff, especially the racers (although they've probably only tried the whole T1 package, rather than just the bars).

Don't know about changing the bars except that some have said that the T-1s are a bit much, I believe Hodgkis may offer a better street package. but shocks and alignment will make a difference. But don't go crazy. For the street -1 all around is good.
Question: Did you lower the car already? If so you may be to low and are riding on the bump-stops. and or past the range the the stock (04s included) shocks are good for.
Toe should be at 0 front and maybe 1/8th toe in on the rear.

I've played with the alignment just a little, before running it's first autocross. Right now it's got 1/4" toe-in at the rear and 1/8" out at the front. Camber still stock. Height is nearly factory, except that I took about a quarter-inch off the rear to level it out. I'll be taking the whole car down just a little, but nowhere close to the stops -- maybe a half-inch.

Yeah, but the sirens and red lights are distracting...
