T1 versus Hotchkis sway bars

I am contemplating my next mods: sway bars.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the T1 and the Hotchkis sways bars? Which is "better?"

Thanks in advance,

DMP

I subscribe, but must live in the "boonies" of NE Ohio, 'cause I have yet to receive my copy. Thanks for the heads up.

Dave my feeling is the Hotchkis bars are nice but only a step above the Z06 bar.....they are a great improvement for a standard C5 (as that is what they were originally designed for).

The T1 bars are a racing bar and are stiff and big. They will improve the handling of the Z06 markedly on the track. They will give a harsh ride on the street.

The hemi joints will also get dirty on the street and will need constant maintainance. Both the T1 and Hotchkis use hemi jointed end links.

I like the T1 bars better.

Another recommendation is that you should use BOTH the T1 bars together.

Dave just get the T-1 front bar links, no noise and you can remove a preload. Bigger bars are not going to do anything but make the car ride bad on the street and narrow the edge between stick and slide. DJ is right, and I still have the stock bars on my car.

Z06:
Front 30mm diameter, 4.5mm wall thickness
Rear 23.6mm diameter, 3.5mm wall thickness

Hotchkis:
Front = 31.75mm diameter, hollow, wall thickness = 4mm
Rear = 25.4mm diameter, hollow, wall thickness = 4mm

T1:
Front = 38.1mm/1.49" diameter, hollow, wall thickness = 6.35mm
Rear = 26.98mm/1.06" diameter, hollow, wall thickness = 6.35mm

And one further comment. I have just a front T1 with the stock rear bar. It eliminates the substantial body roll in the stock setup. The car is very balanced and predictable. Works well on road courses and I like a firm ride. I know DJ has said that just a rear T1 is not good, but the same isn't true for using just the front. I suppose my setup gives the rear a more supple ride as an advantage. On the endlinks, the T1's are unlined and need lubrication frequently. Guldstrand sells plastic-lined ones that eliminate that problem. Also you need to lubricate the mounting bushings or it can make an unbelievable amount of noise.

JJC I beg to differ on the T-1 end links. I have had them on my car for 6K, Mine have a Teflon joint and have not needed any lube. I tend to watch my suspension very close.(second set of front a-arms) No squeaks or rattles like Hotchkis.

Mark,
Maybe they have changed them since I got mine in June 01. That would be good. Mine were definitely metal to metal.
