tensioner woes, checked it and I think its ok so now what?

I Changed the serpentine belt, old one was fine. Still squeaks and squeels at idle, if I turn the AC on it seems to go away. Sometimes it doesnt make any noise at all, it seems the temp of the motor may have something to do with it. I tried again this afternoon to locate where the noise is coming from, and watch the engine oil temp go from 70 F to 100-110 F or so and no noise.

I also took the serpentine belt off of the upper tensioner and checked for any excessive play with the pulley and there wasnt anything excessive at all, I could barely move it side to side a fraction of centimeter or so, a minute amount and I dont think its the tensioner.

So Im thinking that when it does make noise that maybe its the AC tensioner, but why would the noise subside when the AC is turned on? I asked the guy who answered the phone at napa of all people and he said maybe it was the AC clutch?

I already threw away $50 changing a perfectly good belt, and I dont want to keep buying and changing parts so by the sounds of the situation would it be the AC tensioner or something else?

Thanks for everyone's patience while I deal with this latest culprit, I know this is like my 3rd post regarding this topic.

I didn't respond previously, so I don't know all the symptoms beyond above posted.
I took mine in for squealing noise at around 5500 miles. Dealer put a new Serpentine belt on as warranty action, but service agent told me belt was fine, and perhaps some belt dressing would have done it.

I've heard that the stock tensioner can have problems in higher HP applications. When I built my new motor I installed a Katech billet belt tensioner to make sure I didn't have a problem. I think LG over there <<<< sells them.

Im probably sitting at 65 hp at the flywheel over stock, I dont think the stock tensioner should have a problem with that....I dont like the idea of the constant adj. and monitoring of the katech unit either.

I didn't read the other thread but on older cars, you can take a few dabs of silicone sealer and put it on different parts of the belt. Then fire it up and it will many times get rid of the squeel.
