Dynotech in Ft. Wayne Indiana has done all the work on my Z. I had them do a few "tweaks" the week before the Fest, just to get her in tip top shape. While at the drags on Friday, I threw my serpentine belt. This is a major problem with a Vortech blower. In order to get the belt back on, you must remove the blower and aftercooler. Not to mention repairing any damage the belt shrapnel does when it comes apart.
I called Phil at Dynotech around 1:00pm BG time, and told him what had happened. His response was, "Let me see what Jeromy and Tim have planned for the weekend. Maybe I can talk them into coming down and getting you back up and running." I couldn't believe it, all the way from Fort Wayne. About a half hour later Phil called and said, "Heck, I didn't even have to talk them into it. They'll load up the truck and be there as soon as they can." That boys and girls is 350 + miles away!
Is that taking care of the customer or what? Phil and I have become pretty good friends while he's been working on my car, but this takes the cake!
Here are some shots of the guys working on my car under the arch in front of the Hampton Inn. They got to BG around 9:00pm.
When the belt came apart, it cut a bunch of the wiring to the active handling and anti lock break systems. Here's Tim splicing it back together:
They brought a whole pick up full of tools. They even brought a bearing press in case a pulley had a messed up bearing.
The guys hung out with us the rest of the weekend. It's nice having your own pit crew! I told Adam at the NCM about what they had done, and he let me bring them to the banquet Saturday Night. Here's a shot of them standing in front of one of the exhibits. Phil, the owner of DTE, was an engine builder on both these race cars:
All I can say is, THANKS GUYS!! If you're thinking about modding your Z, I can't recommend these guys highly enough!!

To say I was impressed by this level of customer service, would be a gross understatement.
I asked the guys when they originally did the mods--they said over a year ago--WOW!
What a quality company

I was standing on the other side of the open hood looking at the broken belt and obvious damage, when Tom made the call to Dynotech! When he said they were going to send people down, I was thinking 'Right'!!
I went back to the hotel, took a shower and a nap and when I came back to the arch my jaw hit the ground!!
There was Tom's car with a pickup backed up to it filled with tools, parts and two men that were nothing but a-holes and elbows under the hood!!
I've heard of #1 rated customer service, but this rates as 'Above and Beyond the #1 concept! They have definitely raised the bar
I believe Phil made a lasting impression on a lot of Corvette people! I know he made the top of my vendors list
Tom, I was VERY impressed with Dynotech's customer service!!!!
These days, it seems like there is a lot of ambivalance and apathy by companies (including some tuners) toward customer service. Dynotech raised the bar with their quick response to your situation and scored some big time points on my scoreboard!!!!
Well done, Dynotech
Mike
(btw, I had MCRacing order the differential bracket from them yesterday. Thanks for the brochure and the peak under the car, Tom)
I am in a business will customer service is first and foremost. I can only say, after reading this, that Dynotech has not gone the "extra mile," but rather the extra 350 miles!
I am going to have to go to their web site now and see if there are some goodies I might be able to purchase from them for my car. I am certain ther are.

They made some points in my book as well, to Dynotech!

What customer service!! I heard about Tom's Z06 and was saying...crap! another one to be towed home! Then I saw the pickup with the DTE sticker on back, bed full of tools, and two young men really working the sweat up on Tom's car. What a company! Just Awesome! Thanks for being a vendor on this site Phil!

Thank you gents and I'll pass this thread along to my technicians to see, as they will certainly appreciate it. They are real assets to this company and work hard eveyday, so to say that we've been blessed with their talent here is an understatement.
They had a great time at the museum and enjoyed chatting/meeting everyone, plus it's nice for them to get away from the shop and take a "break" once in a while. They were particularly fond of Z0h6princess! I don't what she did to them, but she is all I heard about for two days after they got back was !!!
BTW Tom, thanks for showing the guys around down there and letting us work on your car throughout this whole upgrade process. It was their first visit to NCM and they said to tell garret "Hi" for them.
On a side note, we are going to develop an additional idler pulley kit using "Rev Limiter" Tom's car, that is engineered to prevent belt whip on the Vortech systems so the negative belt issue will never have to happen to anyone else again.
Thank you again to everyone and we do plan on attending next year's event as a tuner/vendor. Wish I could have been there this year, but someone had to hold down the shop. Happy motoring everyone!
Best Regards,
Phil Rickard
