Tires size for 18x10 front & 18x11 rear wheels?

I am getting ready to order some CCW Classic wheels and I need to figure out the correct tire sizes. I plan to purchase 18x10 wheels for the front and 18x11 for the rear so I can run drag radials.
For the rear I am guessing that 315/30R-18 is the largest I can go without rubbing, but what is the correct size for the front wheels?

Will this size work up front without scraping? 295/35R-18

I'm leaning toward BFG G-FORCE T/A DRAG Radials in the back and BFG G-FORCE T/A KDW NT in the front.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you care at all about the handling, dont go with the BFG drag radials in the back. The car will handle worse than a Mustang.

Im also curious if 295s will fit in the front.

Not only that, they are down right dangerous in the wet.

Hey BOBS97C5,

When I ordered my CCW Classics John advised that 10.5x18 front and 11.5x18 rear was the max advisable, so you can add the extra .5" if you want. I went with the race machining and steel inserts in the lug holes.

I'm running Nitto 555R2's with 295x18 front and 305x18 rear. Rear brake ducts still in place. everything fits great, only rubs on DRM extensions at full lock.

For 315 wide rear I think the rear ducts have to go.

let me add a little more info as bob is my buddy. he already knows the caveats to running drags (no wet weather and no high speed cornering), so that's not the question. the issue is that with anything less than R2s you can't hook up when you have more than 450rwhp. i run bfg drags in the summer because it's the only way i can hook up. we have other vehicles for wet weather and we don't go nuts in corners with drags. i actually have pushed my bfgs pretty hard on some twisty roads and was surprised at how well they did. not as good as my R2s, but much better than i thought they'd be. also, i have 315s on 10.5s in the rear with no problems.

just looking for input on tire sizes that others are running if they have 18x10s up front.

i'll be sad to see the 505s go, but you DO need some traction

thanks

I'm running Nitto 555R2's with 295x18 front and 305x18 rear.

Do you mean 285/35-18 in the front? Nitto doesn't make an RII in 295.

That's the way I'll be going this spring, 18x10.5 on all four corners with the RIIs in 285/35 front and 305/35 rear.

Hey Blue Angel,

You are correct 285 on the front, I must be suffering from CRS.

With the 285 the edge of the rim actually sticks out about 2mm past the sidewall, so a 295 should not be a problem.

And yes, if you look closely there is a ding in the rim from a curb. I just put a block of wood on it and pounded it straight.

WHEELS:
So I can run 18x10.5" in the front and 18x11.5" in the rear? Is anyone else running these sizes? Am I safer sticking with 18x10 front and 18x11 rear? I need to know for sure before I order my CCW Classics.
TIRES:
Can anyone say for sure that these tires will fit without rubbing?
Front: BFG g-Force T/A KDW NT - 295/35R-18
Rear: BFG g-Force T/A Drag Radial - 315/30R-18

Thanks!

If you go that route (295/35-18 front, 315/30-18 rear) your fronts will be a larger diameter than the rears (26.1" F and 25.6" R).

Why don't you run the KDW in a 265/35 on an 18x10" wheel on the front, that way it'll be a little smaller than your 315/30 DR (25.3" F, 25.6" R)? The 265/35-18 comes in both the new and traditional tread pattern, too, the new tread matches the new drag radial kinda.

The guys at CCW should be able to help you out... I'd work with them since they're the ones supplying the wheels.

Thanks, that sounds about right. I just looked up all of this info on BFG's website so I can compare overall diameters of different size tires. I just wanted to make sure that whatever I end up going with will not rub. Thanks for the input.

I have 18x11 front and 18x12 ccw rear.
run 315/30/18 Nitto NT-01 in rear and also have run Pilot Cups with no issues at all but damn tight.

305/30/18 in front with a little rub full lock with drm extensions.
